Ward was born in MonroeLouisianaon April 151976. Monroe Christian School is a Christian-only private school. In her secondary educationWard was a student at Ouachita Parish High Schoolbut then moved into River Oaks High School on the summer after her junior year; thereshe was part of the dance and drill teams. She attended Northeast Louisiana University briefly after the completion of her degree. Ward left school at the age of thirteen and relocated to New York so that she could begin modeling. Her acting career started just a couple of years later further down the line. She was first cast uncredited in 1970s in the soap opera All My Children. Later she was cast on NBC's short-lived prime-time teen drama Malibu Shores. Then, in the fall of 1996, Ward was cast in the role of Meg Cummings on Sunset Beach. In 1999, she began pursuing an acting career in the film industry, starring as the neurotic Brittany Foster in the erotic thriller The In Crowd. It wasn't a major hit in the theaters however it did very well on home video and cable. The following year Ward starred in a supporting role in the hit movie Shallow Hal.
